This site is located on lands
controlled by the State of Colorado, for which TCC has right-of--entry. The drilling will
be performed to determine the characteristics of the soil and depth to bedrock prior to
designing caissons for a building foundation. TCC is not planning on constructing a
road, excavating ntud pits, or creating a disturbance which would create additional
contributions of suspended solids to stream flow or runoff outside the area. The 4"
diameter holes will be drilled by attack-mounted soil auger and may extend up to 30 feet
in depth. It is not anticipated that water will be encountered. Access will be directly
from Routt County Road 33 onto the site. TCC is not planning to grade any pads due to
the shallow depths of the holes and the flat terrain. This drilling will occur over athree-
day period and holes will be backfilled with cuttings immediately. TCC does not
anticipate that this constitutes a significant disturbance due to the use of attack-mounted
rig and the short duration of activity. The site sits on a 2% to 4% grade, and there will be
no impact to vegetation, land, air, and water resources.
TCC has been fortunate to acquire the use of attack-mounted auger for a week, starting
August 3rd. We would appreciate your timely review of this Notice of Intent to enable
immediate drilling.
Sincerely,
TWENTYMILE COAL COMPANY
~ ~1~~, ~~
Richard Mills
Manager Surface/Environment
Enclosures
