<br />UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR 4310 84 <br />Bureau of Land Management <br />Colorado: Realty Action <br />Non-competitive Lease of Public - <br />Lands in Rio Blanco County <br />~`N~c1981 <br />Colorado 31709 <br />The following described land has been examined and •identified as suitable <br />for lease under Section 302 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act <br />of 1976 (90 Stat 2762; 43 U.S.C. 1732) at no less than the appraised fair <br />market rental: <br />Sixth Principal Meridian <br />T. 3 N., R. 101 W., <br />sec. 22, Portions within E~W~ and E'~; <br />sec. 23, Portions within W~NE'y, SE%NE~L, NWIy and S~; <br />sec. 26, Portions within NON°}~ and NW~y; <br />sec. 27, Portions within NEB, E'~W'~ and N~1SE~y. <br />The areas within the above described lands that will actually be used <br />aggregate approximately 513 acres in Rio Blanco County. They are show on <br />a map entitled "Refuse Disposal Area", Figure 2-13, at page 60 of the <br />draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Moon Lake Power Plant Project, <br />IInits 1 and 2, filed with the Environmental Protection Agency January 8, <br />1981. <br />Lease of the above described lands has been proposed by Western Fuels <br />Association, Inc., of Lakewood, Colorado. The land is proposed to be used <br />to provide areas for storage of topsoil, sediment ponds and areas for <br />refuse disposal in COaj;1P.CtiC.^_ '+'ith opera±ion of t!±= Desera3o Coal Mine <br />which is planned to be operated by Westetn Fuels Association, Inc., on <br />adjacent land under coal leases Denver 047201, Colorado 023703 and 028875. <br />Information concerning the proposed use is in the final Environmental <br />Impact Statement for the Moon Lake Power Plant Project, Units 1 and 2, <br />filed with the Environmental Protection Agency May 1, 1981. The proposed <br />uae is consistent with Bureau of Land Management land use planning. The <br />Rio Blanco County Commissioners have not objected to lease of the land for <br />the proposed uses.
