The following information covers <br />the time period from July 21, 1997 -July 27, 1997. <br />General Construction Summary <br />Construction of the RPE Pond (TR79) remains at 95% complete. Excavation of Phase 1C and <br />Phase 1D and creation of structural fill via screening operations continues. Construction of the <br />Pond SG-1 embankments and filling of the shaft bench areas is in progress. Installation of the 96" <br />x 57" arch culvert for the West Fork of Sylvester Gulch is complete. Backfilling of the foundation <br />of the Plate Arch culvert for the main Sylvester Gulch crossing was completed. Construction of <br />the Landing #2 light-use road is complete. Removal of the majority of fill material from the <br />failure area is complete. Rough excavation of the Electric Borehole Road has begun. Light <br />afternoon and evening rains occurred at the site Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. <br />Field Monitoring and Observations <br />RPE: Site lines for completed slope excavations (south slope) for Phase lA and 1B were <br />observed on Friday, July 25, and no movement was detected. Phase 1 C cut slopes (in <br />progress) are dry and stable. <br />
