Public Facilities <br />Adequate public facilities <br />shall be provided to serve <br />but not limited to, roads, <br />waste, parks, police, fire <br />medical, hospital and medi <br />schools. <br />and services shall exist or <br />the special use including, <br />potable water, sewer, solid <br />protection, emergency <br />gal, drainage system and <br />Review Standards for Mining and Mineral Processincr Operations <br />Land Use Code Section 5-16 establishes the standards for the <br />Planning Commission to use in reviewing expansion of mining anc <br />mineral processing operation applications, which the applicant <br />must address in the Standards Report required by Section 4-206: <br />SECTION 5-16: MINING <br />The standards in this Section are intended to mitigate the <br />impacts of mining and mineral processing, including protecting <br />the health, safety and welfare of persons residing in the <br />•iicinity and of persons traveling on roads, streets and highways <br />in San Miguel County utilized for hauling of mined material. <br />This Section also contains provisions to ensure that the <br />environmental impacts of mining and mineral processing are <br />adequately mitigated. Mining and mineral processing operations <br />are also subject to the special use permit provisions of Section <br />5-10. <br />5-1601 Applicability <br />The standards and requirements in this Section 5-16 shall apply <br />to all mining and mineral processing operations required to <br />obtain special use permit approval from the County, including any <br />expansion of existing mining and/or mineral processing <br />operations. Mining and mineral processing operations also are <br />subject to applicable review requirements for Activities of Local <br />and State Interest, as set forth in Section 5-4, and for Wetland <br />Areas, as set forth in Section 5-22. <br />5-1602 Mitigation of Impacts <br />All on-site and off-site impacts shall be adequately mitigated to <br />protect the health, safety and welfare of persons in San Miguel <br />
