You may be aware that the North <br />Well was previously used for dewatering the mine in eazlier years. Given that the well was only <br />for dewatering, the well casing, 7+ inch diameter steel casing, protruded into one of the <br />underground entries in the north section of the mine. Therefore, rather than a well bottom, per <br />say, the well opens into the mine. <br />Accordingly, Central Pump Company, at our request has proposed the enclosed diagram <br />for sealing of the North Well. Given that the well casing opens into the mine, Central Pump Co. is <br />proposing that a 6.5 inch Packer be installed in the well casing at approximately 280 ft. The <br />Packer would be supported vertically by a steel rod or cable (please see diagram). Additional <br />procedures are shown. <br />Rule 4.07.03, Permanent Sealing, (1); (2); and (3) (a through i), shall be followed for the <br />procedures.
