The approved permit for the tailing pond calls for
sufficient impoundment capacity to store the sum of:
1. A 10 year flood with the initial pond level at its average
elevation.
2. A flood equal to 40$ of the 100 year flood.
3. A 100 year flood.
The operator's commitment to this level of pond storage capacity can be
found on page 3 of letter dated July 18, 1995 from Thames Hartley to Allen
Sorenson.
It is my understanding that the operator will be providing a survey of the
pond with a determination of the current storage capacity, as well as a
hydrologic evaluation of the runoff that would report to the pond during
the design storm event.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
cc: Carl Mount
Ric Fanyo, via FAX
C:\WP51\GOLDHILL.STR
