Cpl
ti~'~ O
l? .
•~~tr.d
Roy Roma
Governor
Michael B. Long
Drvnion Dneaor
We have reviewed information provided by Peabody Western Coal Company (PWCC)
regarding 1993 reclamation at the Seneca II Mine. The submittal provided proposed seed
mixes and shrub transplant area information. We have the following comments regarding the
information.
1. From the data submitted, it is not clear how many acres will be planted with tree and
shrub seedlings this season. Please provide the Division with the number of acres
planted.
2. The submittal states that three herbicides will be used to aid in shrub establishment.
It would not appear that PWCC has received approval for use of these herbicides.
Please submit a minor revision to the permit which includes a list and brief description
of all persistent herbicides which will be used on site (per Rule 4.18(5)(8)).
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~(,fiS
Susan L Burgm ier
Reclamation Specialist
SLB\091793.
