The most
viable alternative is the construction of fish-interception channels between the ponds to allow
equaliration.of the water levels. A second alternative is the construction of a culvert underneath
County Road 36 directly into Ute Big $rother Pond, though this alternative may also require the
construction of fish-interception channels to the ponds to the South. Either altemative will requQe
design input from the fish biologists to ensure separation of your species. The long-trnn solution to
the problem will probably involve the construction of buried drains from the north to the south side of
Connell's property following the completion of Phase 6 of the mining operations.
I believe that the water levels in the ponds on the east side of your property will continue to decline,
and remediation should be implemented as quickly as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact me
should you have any questions regarding the above.
Yours sincerely,
WATER MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS, INC.
W.
