Steel Company's Response to Stipulation No. 4
Pursuant to your request, I reviewed the February 14, 1984, response made by
U. 5. Steel Company to Stipulation No. 4, placed upon approval of their Permit
No. C-22-81 for the Somerset Underground Coal Mine. The operator proposes the
installation of six subsidence monitoring monuments, one centerline above each
entry of the fifth west mains adjoining Hubbard Creek. The operator further
commits to the performance of quarterly surveys and semi-annual submission of
survey results to the Division.
I recommend approval of the operator's proposed subsidence monument
installation. With approval of this proposal, we may consider the
requirements of Stipulation No. 4 of Permit No. C-22-81 fulfilled.
JP/cd
cc: Ed Bischoff
Doc. 0222E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
