r ~=
As to your last recommendation concerning [he cracks at the Northern
No. 1 sediment pond, I feel there is more need for discussion, After
studying a map of that area, it appears that two (2) waCCr p.ipclines
are located just beneath the area. of apparent seCtLinp,. Therefore,
I do not feel we have a stability problem, but a settling feature.
Meanwhile, we will monitor the site. A map and survey data for the
monitoring is enclosed Eor your files.
There is a correction needed on the inspection report on page 3,
II. 4.28 Craig Loadout, it is stated that the area was never permitted
or bonded by ChII.RD. This area had been permitted by CAtLRD, though
not bonded.
Since your inspection, we have received some rain in the area. The
result is that the Northern No. 1 Mine topsoil stockpile vegetation
is looking thicker. L will continue to visually monitor tfie pile for
tension cracks, which haven't reappeared after 3 weeks. If any do
appear, they will be repaired immediately.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
_ Sincerely,
;~c) ~ zfi
Diane L.
