resulting in only 2.16 acre-filet of wafer used and consumed for dust control; and less
than 5,000 tons (refherthan the 140,000 tons estimated) of mined product was shipped
out; thus resulting in only 0.11 acre-feet of water lost with the mined product. Therefore,
the total consumptive use for the period of April 2002 thru 20 April 2003 was only 3.77
acre-feet, 5.54 acre-feet less than the allowed 9.31 acre-feet as stated in the approval
letter. Due to other permits, the actual operation period was fmm 28 AUG to 22 OCT
2002, much shorter Phan planned.
We anticipate. that our operations during the 2003 operating season will tie closer to that
proposed in the amended Subsfitute Water Supply Ptan, which would be: Evaporeflon
from open wafer estimated at 4.54 acre-feet; water shipped with product estimated at
4.12 acre-feet, water used for washing of product estimated at 1.62 acre-feet, and dust
control using an estimated 4.36 acre-feet; for a tofal consumptive use of 14.64 acre-
feef.
This may change fo a significantly tower number based on a number of factors,
inctudtng a continued tow water table slong the river, .thinner overburden, and more
efficient operations, even if demand is at or above tire estimated 140, 000 tons/year.
/f you have further questions, please contact either.
Aryol Brumley, Manager, Four States Aggregates LLC, 970-565388, or
Nathan A. Barton, PE, DEE, Environmsnfal Engineer, 970-218-4133.
Four States Aggregates LLC
