These two mining permits are located at I-25 ,and $H 119, preceding north past the St. Vrairi River and then extending downstream approximately a tnile and a quarter. Over the past few years, Siegrist has sold various parcels of permitted gravel.ground to third parties, and in one instance with Weld Count}r, the par.Gel sold was permitted by M-82-015, to the north, and M-84-079 to the south. The terms of the sale to Weld County rdquired them to secure the necessary amendments to include 9nly the County purchase in onq permit, and also correcting the remaining two permits to refleof the safe to the County. 7fhis app~rrently was not completed by the County. Reoently, an additional sale of a!portioniof the permitted property was sold to Varra Companies. This transaction took plaee.in March of!1997, and basically encompassed the remainder of the permitted property under M-84J079. We have been advised by Don QarroH of Weld County, that they must revise their special review .permits issued by Weld County,,Numbet 63fi and 489. During such review it was discovered that the necessary corrections to thejpermitsiwere not made with your department. These correction therefore, muss be made for both parcels, which have been sold to third parties. . It is my understanding that once you receive this memo, you wilthave Greg Squires follofw through witfi our' office- as welt as Weld County. We also wish to advise that we are contjnuing mining activity on the M-82-015 permit; and the major amount of such excavaticin has been completed. We have started the process of allowing the natural waters to fill two of }he tlu'e~ lakes, and we request that your representatives schedule an on-site review for approval. Our representative will either be the undersigned or Rick Chek, who may be contacted through our Deriver office number.
