On June 09, 2001 the entire property was grid <br />canvassed and the knapweed was individually hand sprayed plant by plant. I believe the <br />efficiency ratio was in the high 90%. The plants had not yet flowered. Also, about 25 <br />Canadian Thistle plants were found and sprayed. The plan is to spray agairi in late <br />September or early October. I visited many of the web sites i.e.: USGS, ND & SD, <br />Wyoming, Utah, Arizona & the public library looking for information on this weed. <br />While there was a lot of text regarding the aggressive nature of this weed, there was no <br />information of when it would bud again in the fall. However, there was no indication that <br />it will bud in the fall. The situation is that if the plant buds in the fall I certainly want to <br />spray it before it flowers.
