Permit M74-052 - Pit#1. <br /> Dear Mr. Squire: <br /> In order to update you beyond my submittal of 25 October 1996 to the Division of <br /> Water Resources, and to better respond to the concerns expressed in your <br /> correspondence of 29 October 1996, as discussed during our telephone <br /> conference of 4 November 1996, please allow the following to append your <br /> status report as follows: <br /> Problem #1: There are no longer any plans to line the ponds in question. <br /> Should lining occur, no construction would occur beyond the present day <br /> conditions without first obtaining approval from the DMG. <br /> Further, backfilling is intended as previously approved in TR-1. The actual <br /> resolution of this matter is pending resolution of augmentation considerations <br /> with the State Engineer, which the information copied to your office of 25 <br /> October 1996 conveyed. We are very close to resolution. <br /> Problem #2: Resolution of augmentation is close, as my information provided to <br /> your office on 25 October suggests. Last week, I spoke with Bill Maclntyre and <br /> he indicated he was 50% completed with his review. I was hoping to hear from <br /> him by the time of this correspondence. <br /> He indicated the figures looked good. Upon approval, which is expected, we <br /> must gain approval of an accounting method from Bill Gambrell, the Water <br /> Commissioner. Once the accounting is secured, we will submit a proposal to the <br /> City of Lafayete to purchase the winter water we need, which is both available <br /> and affordable. <br /> Once we secure all necessary water, the entire Pit 1 i� Dakolios sites will be <br /> properly permitted for all presently exposed groundwater.
