Apply when the majority of the
thisde-plants have emerged end are at
least 4 inches in height, but before bud
smge. Use higher rates listed for stand
reduction of larger thistle pmnts or
heavier infesmdons. Lower rates listed
may provide seasonal thistle suppression
only.
Tough® 3.75 EC 0.47 Ib a.iJA 0.47-0.9416 a.iJA Applications may be made m emerged,
(pyridate) actively growing weeds. Keeping
the spray off the cam leaves and out of
[he whorl will reduce the likelihood of
crop injury and improve spray coverage
of weed foliage.
COTTON
PREPLANT APPLICATION: Apply up to 8 fluid ounces of BANVEL per acre
to control emerged broadleaf weeds prior [o planting cotton in conventional or
conservation tillage systems.
For best performance, apply BANVEL when weeds are in the 2-0 leaf stage and
settes are less than 2" across.
ollowing application of BANVEL and a minimum accumulation of 1" of minfall
or overhead irriga[ioq a waiting interval of 21 days is required per 8 Fluid ounces
per acre or less. These intervals must be observed prior [o planting cotton.
Do not apply preplan[ to cotton west of the Rockies.
Do not make BANVEL preplan[ applications to geographic areas with average
annual minfall less than 25".
]f applying a spring preplan[ treatment following application of a fall preplan[
(postharvest) treatment, then the combination of both treatments may not exceed
2 pounds acid equivalent per acre.
COTTON TANK M1XES
For control of grasses or additional broadleafweeds, BANV EL may be tank mixed
with Bladex®, Caparol®, Gramoxone° Extra, and Roundup Ultm® R7 herbicides.
Not for use in California.
SORGHUM (MILO)
Observe all precautions, including the reference to crops growing under stress.
Read and follow mining and application instructions.
Applications of BANVEL to sorghum during periods of rapid growth may result
in temporary leaning of plants or rolling of leaves. These effects ere usually
outgrown within 10 to 14 days.
Do not graze or feed treated sorghum forage or silage prior [o mature grain smge.
If sorghum is grown for pasture or hay, refer to the pasture use section of this
label. I)o not apply BANVEL to sorghum grown for seed production.
Make no more than one application per growing season.
WEEDS CONTROLLED
BANVEL, when applied at the recommended rote for sorghum, will control many
actively growing ANNUAL broadleaf weeds and will reduce competition from
established PERENNIAL broadleafweeds as well as control their seedbngs. (Refer
[o GENERAL WEED LIST).
RATES AND TIMINGS
BANVEL may be applied to emerged and actively growing weeds al Ieasl 15
days prior to planting. Postemergence application of BANVEL must be made
afcer sorghum is in the spike stage (all sorghum emerged) but before sorghum is
15 inches tall. For beg performance, make applications when sorghum is in the 3
~0 5 leaf stage and weeds are small (less than 3 inches roll). Use drop pipes (drop
rozzles) if sorghum is taller than 8 inches. Keeping the spray off the sorghum
leaves and out of [he whorl will reduce [he likelihood of crop injury and improve
spay coverage of weed foliage.
Broadcast race per treated acre:
4, pint (~/a Ib. a.i.
Batabasc and ~ormai cop)~right©bv Vancc Communication Corpor
TANK MIX TREATMENTS
BANVEL plus Atrazine:
For improved control of emerged, actively growing broadleaf weeds including
[riazine resistant species and added suppression of perennial broadleaf weeds,
tank mix U. pint BANVEL with 0.5 to 1.25 lbs. a.i. atrazine per treated acre.
For control of grosses (less than L5 inches tall), mnk mix i~ pint BANVEL with
2 lbs. a.i. atmzine per treated acre. For best performance and minimal crap
injury, make application when sorghum is 3-8 inches tall and when broadleaf
weeds are small (less than 6 inches tall). Application of atrazine must be made
before sorghum is beyond 12 inches tall. The atrazine rate will depend upon soil
texture and length of residual weed control desired. Follow all state and Federal
restrictions pertaining to atmzine applications.
BANVEL plus Buctrilo:
For improved control of broadleaf weeds, tank mix 4r pint BANVEL with l-l Yr
pint Buctril® herbicide per vested acre. Make application at 4 leaf to 15-inch roll
sorghum. Use drop nozzles m direct spmy beneath sorghum leaves when sorghum
is greater than 8 inches tall.
READ AND FOLLOW THE LABEL OF EACH TANK MIX PRODUCT USED
FOR PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS, DIRECTIONS FOR USE, APPLICA-
710N RATES AND TIMINGS, AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS.
OVERLAY (SEQUENTIAL) TREATMENTS
BANVEL may be applied to ground previously treated with one or more of the
following herbicides:
Herbicide Marimum Rate Per Treated Acre pbs. s.i.)
alachlor (lasso®) 4 ~

(Screen®-treated seed) I
atmzine 2.5 ~I
mmolachlor (Duals) 2.5
(Concep®-treated seed) '
propachlor (Ramrod®) 5
Maximum use rate for atmzine is determined by soil type, tillage practices used surface
residue, end state or local restrictions. An agriculmmlly approved surfactant may be used to
improve performance. For aerial applications use at least 2 gallons of water-based
carrier per treated acre.
Delay harvest until 30 days after treatment
Broadcast rate per treated acre:
