Edna Mine Vegetation Final Bond Release Monitoring 2005-2006
WEST RIDGE: TOPSOILED
The West Ridge topsoiled area will have weighted averages determined for cover
and production liability release standards. Premining plant community mapping
and the actual disturbance area will be used to determine the weighting factors.
This will be accomplished by determining the acreage within the disturbed area
that was in either snowberry sage or oak/mountain shrub vegetation community
types. Percentages values will be calculated using the acres of disturbance
within these two vegetation communities. These percentages will be used to
weight the average cover and production values for their respective reference
areas and set the vegetation parameter bond release standard.
Recommended standards for diversity of herbaceous, woody plants and overall
revegetation community have been established and will be used to describe
dominance, species numbers and utility. Herbaceous Species Diversity requires
the presence of at least five perennial herbaceous species with each relative
importance of each species equal to or greater than 3% and less than 40%.
Combined relative importance of the 5 species will not exceed 75%. If 6 or more
species have relative importance that lies within this range, then the maximum
combined relative importance standard is waived and does not require
evaluation. No other diversity standards applicable to these areas require
quantitative vegetation measurement.
WEST RIDGE/MOFFAT: PREVIOUSLY DISTURBED
West Ridge Previously Disturbed lands include the following parcels
• West Ridge outside of the topsoiled areas;
• Middle Moffat Haulroad outside of the Out-of-Pit spoil area;
• Reclaimed diversion ditch located south of the out-of-pit spoil area; and
• Moffat Out-of-Pit spoil area.
Habitat Management, Inc. 3 4/8/2005
