April 16 , 1982
page two
The Board recommends that the trees around the existing
farmhouse site should be preserved as long as possible
so that new replacement trees can become established ;
The Board is concerned with the impact on wildlife
and neighborhoods of such elements as night lighting ,
dust and noise pollution ;
The Board is concerned with the use of water on the
property and as it affects the adjacent Open Space property.
The Board recommends that the water from the dewatering
process be made available for use on adjacent Open Space
property as offered by Flatirons and requests that the City
have the first option to lease _of _available water shares which
are not in use during the mining and reclamation process .
The Board further recommends that the existing water shares
on the property should be retained and used to their fullest
extent to maintain the green landscape elements of the Deepe
Farm as this affects the visual corridor into Boulder .
The Open Space Board of Trustees further requests that
as additional details on the reclamation plan (as approved
by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board ) become available
they should be forwarded to the Open Space Board of Trustees
for review.
Subsequent to this date , the Boulder County Commissioners gave their
approval for the mining plan subject to certain conditions . The
Mined Land Reclamation Staff inspected the site and the adjacent
Turnpike Pit (your file #78-64 ) and made certain observations and
recommendations .
The Open Space Board of Trustees has reviewed this additional material
and , on April 14 , 1982 , added the following comments to its original
recommendation :
The Open Space Board of Trustees supports the conditions for
approval by the Boulder County Commissioners and encourages
the continued involvement of the Mined Land Reclamation
Staff in this project .
Sin; rely ,
Yimector
es C .
