C-82-055
INTERSEEDING SLOPE
Dear Kent Gorham:
This letter is to verify my telephone discussion with you on 4-25-03 concerning
"interseeding" a portion of the south facing slope at Energy Fuels' Raton Creek Mine. I
appreciate you calling me back on the matter.
Energy Fuels understands that you discussed my proposal with Dan Hernandez of the
Division, to interseed the referenced slope at the mine. Energy Fuets further understands that the
interseeding will not cause the Division to `re-start' the time schedule (the "Clock") of the re-
vegetation program.
As we discussed, Energy Fuels intends to interseed between the recently installed (4-
14-03) contour ditches located on the south facing slope. The approved seed mix is to be drilled
in between the contour ditches using a rangeland drill proceeding along the contour of the slope.
The ditches and ditch berms are to be broadcast seeded at twice the rate of the drilled seed. No
discing, harrowing or mulching will be done for this interseeding process. Also, limited
interseeding (drilled) wilt be done along the tow of the slope only in the immediate area where
trucks previously hauled/dumped the sediment material from the sedimentation pond.
If you have any questions on the matter, please call at your convenience.
Sincerely,
[ _ _
ge V.
