However, the plan does
call for consulting the Division when this technique is to be used on slopes
in excess of 4:1. Examination of the postmining topography maps shoe; that a
few of the slopes at the top of Area 9/10 approach or slightly exceed 4:1.
As a result, this letter serves as formal consultation with the Division.
Examination of the postmining topography maps also shows that the slopes
exceeding 4:1 are 200 feet or less. Due to the short length of these slopes
no excessive erosion is anticipated. As required by the rill and gully
plan, these slopes will be surveyed. If excessive erosion develops in these
areas, such areas will be repaired with one or a combination of approved
soil stabilization measures as provided for in the rill and gully plan (i.e.
contour furrows).
Please let me know if this meets with your approval.
Sin rely,
~ / f 1~"rro-~~~
1
7erre1l K.
