A Brunton, tape, end level survey was performed on the Hazel A mine to determine the storage
capacity behind the bulkhead Disterrcev were taped end elevations determined using a level beck
to a point where the high water mark meets the floor on the main drift of the Hazel A Table 1
shows elevations relative to a zero elevation just behind the bulkhead near the portal.
There were three main drifts that contained the majority of the water stored in the Haul A The
main drift (Stations 1 through 8) is driven in a generally westerly dvection. There ero two main
side drifts just behind the bulkhead. The fret side drift is driven north for 34feet end then goes
west, paralleling the main drift for 51-feet A second side drift is driven to the south and a~.ends
back 36-feet The first station of both side drifts end the mein drift ere the carne point
The high water level was measured where the high water line on the rib intersected the IIom of
the drift. The location on the floor was eL Station 7 (W.L) erd was 4.1 S ~a111yrer then the floor
elevation at the bulkhead
