An Environmental Assessment wiZ1 be prepared for the brush management <br />alternative selected by the cooperator. <br />IV. Infestation can be determined on percent ca nopy_cover, number of <br />plants per acre, or percent composition by (a it dry) weight. (AI1 <br />references to percent composition of the potential plant community is <br />air dry weight.) <br />V. Brush management in Colorado will he applicable when growth of brush <br />and other conditions are as stated for the following species: <br />a. Basin Big Sagebrush, Artemisia tridentata tridentata, mountain big <br />sagebrush, Artemisia tridentata vaseyana, Wyoming big sagebrush, <br />Artemisia tridentata wyomingensis. Control should 6e limited to <br />areas where these sagebrush significantly exceed the maximum <br />allowable percentage in the potential plant community as indicated <br />in the range site description or exceed 15 percent crown canopy. <br />b. Sand Sagebrush, Artemisia filifolia. Control of sand sagebrush <br />should be limited to areas where the crown canopy is greater than <br />15 percent of the percent potential plant community is exceeded. <br />c. Pinyon, Pinus edulis, Utah Juniper, Juniperus osteosperma, and <br />one seed juniper, Juniperus monosperma.
