i r
Golden, Colorado. This construction certificate will
describe the soil compaction standards that will be adhered
to during the construction of the tailings impoundment dam.
The Denver Engineering Corporation will also ensure that the
starter dam is properly sized and constructed in order to
maintain a 2.8 to 1 horizontal to vertical slope gradient.
During the field examination with Mr. Philip Saletta
and yourself, it was determined that a single permanent
diversion ditch will be sufficient to protect the tailings
pond from water runoff from the precipitation catchment area
above the tailings impoundment structure. The water runoff
diversion ditch that will be excavated above the tailings
impoundment area will be constructed according to the design
submitted to the Gold Hill Ventures by Ted Zorich and
Associates, Inc., of Denver, Colorado,
Gold Hill Ventures will forward the construction
certifications that it receives from the Denver Engineering
Corporation and Ted Zorich and Associates to the Mined Land
Reclamation Division within two weeks of the construction of
the tailings impoundment structure and the water runoff
diversion ditch.
Finally, two qualified professional engineers from the
Denver Engineering Corporation have inspected the bulkhead
holding water in the Hazel A. adit, and do not believe that
it needs to be replaced or strengthened. Ted Zorich and
Associates, Inc. have suggested that if Gold Hill Ventures
maintains sufficient freeboard in the tailings impoundment
structure, the Hazel A. adit's bulkhead will not overflow or
give way due to excessive precipitation. Denver Engineering
Corporation will provide Gold Hill Ventures with their
engineers' review of the Hazel A. adit's bulkhead, and it
will be provided to the Mined Land Reclamation Division
prior to using the adit to store decanted mill water.
If you or your staff have any questions or suggestions
regarding Gold Hill Ventures' response to these Amendment
Conditions please contact me in Longmont.
Sincerely,

Mark A. Steen
for Gold Hill Ventures Limited Partnership
MAS/st
-5-
