Empire Eagle Mine Vegetation Final Bond Release Monitoring 2005-2006
For example, 44 potential sample points would be selected and identified for a
' specified maximum sample population of 40. With a sampling area size of 440
acres the grid spacing would be adjusted so that each location represents a grid
size of 10 acres. Ten acres equals 435,600 square feet. The square root of
435,600 square feet is 660 feet. The gird interval in this example would be set at
' a 660-foot interval. For our example two values between 0 and 660 feet would
be generated for the "X" and "Y" coordinates. These values would be used to fix
the grid over the area to be sampled. A graphic example of this random sample
point selection process is shown on Figure 1: Vegetation Random Sample Point
' Grid.
' Habitat Management, Inc. 7 6/7/2006
