The Solid Waste Unit of the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division has
reviewed your letter of September 25, 1996 requesting approval for reuse of contaminated
water from an oil/water separator currently operating at your facility. Your letter included
analytical results from a sample of the water.
Based on our review of the information provided, and consultation with Boulder County
Health Department and the Division of Minerals and Geology, we hereby approve the use
of this water as dust suppression on the Lyons Cement Plant mine haul roads. As we have
discussed, the water should be applied so as to not runoff or create excessive seepage into
the subsurface.
