Additionally, there appear to be some discrepancies regarding channel lining
requirements for the upper road reclaimed Channels "C" through "H". On page
3-8 of Section 3.3.2 there is reference to lining channel segments that are not
formed in rock outcrop with riprap. Page 3-15 of Section 3.3.4 describes
installation of riprap keys at channel inlets and outlets, but does not specify riprap
lining along the length of the channels. Table 3.9-3 desigis specify that all
channels will be lined with "LANDLOCK 450" or equivalent. Map Figure 3.1-7
indicates a riprap lining 0.5 feet thick for Channel "G", and a riprap lining 1.0 feet
thick for Channel "H". This detail is lacking on the map figures that depict cross-
sections for Channels "C" through "F".
Please review these materials and revise as appropriate to clarify the
applicable design specifications and ensure consistency among text, tables,
and figures.
9. Please take note of the commitment on page 3-12 to stake the highwall crest
reduction disturbance boundary, and to contact BLM prior to initiation of
earthwork to allow for inspection and verbal approval from BLM. Please
contact DRMS at the same time, so that we may arrange for a joint
inspection.
