Dt:V ~. ~~~ i~]t C'2I ii `, ~(`.•q rFc <br />in the <br />This letter will confirm the conference call dated December <br />10, 1982, regarding auger application revision to be conducted <br />by GEC to auger the coal in the inactive mined land area. <br />There are several tentative decisions have been reached during <br />the call they are specifically discussed as follows: <br />1) The Auger Application will be limited to the in- <br />active mined land area, which has been mined prior <br />to January 1, 1976. <br />2) The Auger Application to be conducted by GEC will <br />be a "Revision" instead of "Amendment" to GEC's <br />existing permit. <br />3) This area is about erne-ctnd one half miles to the <br />existing operation, which has been disturbed for <br />years, no reclamation has been done at all, and <br />if the coal is not angered as part of the immediate <br />operation, tons of coal will be left as an uneco- <br />nomic highwall and shall be lost forever. It <br />would be necessary to emphasize the importance of <br />allowing GEC Minerals, Inc. to auger and reclaim <br />this requested area. Because there will be im- <br />possible and too expensive for any other mining <br />firms to get into this area to conduct future <br />mining and improve the environment situation, which <br />now is currently under GEC's lease, as appropriate. <br />4) Owing to the special case of this application, <br />the timetable to be required to get a proposed <br />decision from the MLRD after the filing of a <br />complete application fora revision could be <br />
