The American <br />Mining Congress and U. S. Depart- <br />ment of Labor's Mine Safety end <br />Health Administration co-sponsor <br />the award, which is given to the <br />mines with the best safety records <br />in the country. The competition <br />.. ~: <br />honors top safety Performers in six <br />different divisions of mining. <br />Colowyo Coal T;ompany is the <br />Cu•et surface coal mine in Colorado <br />to receive this national honor. <br />The Mine Safety and Health <br />Administration credit Colowyo <br />employees Cor working 735,755 <br />empioyee•hours without alost- <br />time injury accident during 1991. <br />This is a new national record for <br />employee-hours worked without a <br />lost-time accident for a Sentinels <br />o[ Safety winner in the surface <br />coal mine division. <br />In response to learning of the <br />award, Colowyo President Dave <br />Ueilton said, "Cutstanding and <br />well-deserved!
