Colo. 1@ORT 110.. 3
~ 20 !tile Coal Co. .. -. ~
~AIOIgC PfJIFOMtEa
Per the request of hike Astuto of 20 Bile Coal Co., ve visited the site to
perform density testa on the base course of the haul road one half mile vest
of the office trailer and the turning loop for the tipple north of County
Road 33B.
IIEMARKS
The haul road at the Foidel Creek Hine appeared to be in good shape from the
gate to [he East end of [he road. All of the tests in this area from Sta. 0 + 50
to 2 + 90 met the required 95X compaction. The road surface shoved no signs of
pumping or rutting.
The turn around road at the tipple north of County Road 33B vas for the most part
in poor condition. The portion of the road from the grizzly vest to the conveyor
crossing appeared to be yell compacted and shoved no signs of rutting oz pumping.
From where the conveyor crosses to the end of the road, the base course vas very
vet and and poorly compacted. It appeared as if the top foot had been scarified,
bladed and left for the haul trucks to compact the material back into place.
This appears to be the case since the material in this portion of the road vas
very vet, and the material in the shoulders where the trucks hadn't driven vas
soft and appeared to be uncompacted for the [op foot. All of the density tests
in this section of the road failed to meet the required 95%.
PROJECT NO 84-725
