N 1 3 199'
Mine Land
0..12.-.....ir ~ y
Thank you for your visit on 11/26/91. I apologize for not
having mare time to spend with you, but our mill was still in
the start up posture. Before I answer your points of concern,
there are several clarifications I would like to make
regarding the inspection report:
First, under mine name, note that the Gash is not the only
mine listed in the permits. We have no objections to using
Cash as the referral name.
Second, Bob Mason was representing the community of Gold
Hill's Mining and Environmental Committee <GHMEC). We
invited Mr. Mason to participate in the inspection process,
recognizing the community's concern for a facility of this
size operating in their area.
~~ Third, ycur report refers to Gold Hill Ventures Ltd.
~.~ Partnership. As of October 23, 1991, Gold Hill Ventures Ltd.
h Partnership was no longer a permitted operator.
Concern itla.: I have ordered a locking device to be placed
on the valve leading from the tailing pond to the Hazel A
adit. This will be installed as soon as it arrives. I have
~~~ also illuminated the area that would cut down on any possible
tampering with the locking device.
lb.: We are submitting for your review the water
management system that is on file along with the permit, and
we are also submitting the revised management system. As you
can see, all of the changes that were made to the water
management system were done inside the building. These
revisions accomplished two things. The first of which we
bypassed the gravity concentration. This was due to the lack
of commercial free gold in the ore. Instead of going from
~~~ the thickener tank to the flotation concentration and then
out the tails, we now go from the grinding to the flotation
then the thickener tank then out the tails. By making this
change we are able to recycle our chemicals prior to
discharging tails to the tailing pond. Prior to this change
