INTRODUCTION
This document is the approval package prepared by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Division for the O.C. Mine No. 2 (Ohio Creek Coal Mine No. 2), located in Gunnison
County, Colorado. The document includes the 1) the proposed decision to approve the
permit renewal application; 2) a summary that includes a history of the review of the permit
application, a description of the envirortment affected by the operation and a description of
the mining and reclamation plan; and 3) the written findings of compliance the Division has
made as required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. Detailed
information concerning the findings of compliance can be found in the Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining.
The Division has received an application for a permit renewal to conduct surface coal
mining and reclamation operations at the O.C. Mine No. 2. The application was submitted
by Robert Weaver, the operator of the mine.
The mine is on private land in Gunnison County, Colorado.
The legal description of the lands included within the permit area is:
The mine is 16 miles north of the town of Gunnison and is approximately 2.6
miles east of Baldwin. More specifically the current permit area is in
Gunnison County in the State of Colorado in the S1/2 of lots 1 and 2, which
said lots are co-extensive with the SE 1/4 of the NE1/4 and the SWl/4 of the
NE 1/4 of Section 16, Township 15 South, Range 86 West, 6th P.M. This area
is 80 acres in size. The permit area can be found on the USGS Mount Axtell
7.5 minute Quadrangle.

Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S., as amended, 34-33-101 et seq. and the Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. All rules referenced in this
document are contained within those regulations. Detailed information about the proposed
mining and reclamation operations can be found in the approved permit, the permit renewal
application, and the public record maintained by the Division (File No. C-80-002) at 1313
