<br />It appeazs to me that the polluted water is entering the stream channel from a point <br />source. Water flowing from the settling ponds will eventually enter the Arkansas River. The <br />settling ponds are quite small and obviously inadequate to prevent polluted water from entering <br />the stream channel. Given the fact that polluted water was being discharged when it was not <br />raining, it follows that the release of polluted water into the stream channel would be more of a <br />problem during wet weather. <br />It appears to me that some action should be taken by the Division of Minerals and <br />Geology to ensure that the above water pollution problem is stopped. Thank you for your <br />attention to this matter and do not hesitate to contact me if needed.
