Funston:
I am writing to you for Rick Watson, Lona Range Planner, concerning the
Limited Impact and Special (Ten-Day) Permit Application Form for the
South Chieftain Mine, #IS-13. There are two discrepancies with which
we are concerned.
The first of these is Item #6 - owner(s) of record of affected land
(surface area). The owners listed here are Tom Pike, Peterson Estate,
and Paul Partridge - approximately 1,200 acres. The City of Lakewood
also owns some of the affected land, having been deeded it October 9, 1974
(see enclosure).
The second point is that, to my knowledge, the City of Lakewood should
have received notification of the application for the permit from the
Robinson Brick and Tile Company and also should have been asked to
comment on the reclamation plan before approval is granted. If this
is not true, clarification of Colorado Revised Statute 34-32-109(6) would
be greatly appreciated. I would also be grateful for any information
concerning the status of this permit, as well as any more precise informa-
tion you may have as to which six acres the permit applies.
I have. one final request: ~1r. 4!atson would like to have information
similar to that which you sent July 25, 1978 (applications for permits)
on other mine operators in the area west of Lakewood. Enclosed is a
.a - .
