• be kept informed of developments should this occur in order to assure that
the facilities will not be abandoned, but will be transferred to a bona fide
operator with CMLRB's concurrence.
Reclamation Plan. Provided that no bona fide requests are made for the
facilities, reclamation of the office/shop area wil- take place after cessation
of operations. Bored on the previously stated evidence of conditions prior to
mining and the desire to perform reclamation that will benefit the post-
mining land uses, reclamation will approximate closely that which is detailed
in Tab 13 of the Seneca II Permit Application (revised May 27, 1981). Items
that are more specific to the office/shop area are detailed below.
I. Preparation of the Site. With the completion of operations and final
reclamation, the facilities will no longer be needed and will be dismantled.
Foundations and other concrete structures will be broken and hauled to the
solid waste disposal area for burial as shown on Exhibit 12-2, Mining Facili-
ties Map. Two feet of soil or other materials on the site will be removed and
• disposed of in the ash disposal area. This will insure that surfacing materials
used in the office/shop area plus any debris from the dismantling operation
will be removed. The area will then be deep ripped to reduce compaction
and enhance root penetration and infiltration. Slopes around the office/shop
area will be graded and shaped to a more gentle angle that blends in with the
surrounding topography.
2. Topsoil Replacement. Topsoil will be placed over The ripped and shaped
areas to a depth of two feet. The topsoil will be taken from a topsoil stock-
pile located directly west of the Wadge Impoundment. Replacement of
topsoil will follow procedures detailed in Tab 9, Attachment I, Topsoil
Management Plan and Scheduling.
3. Revegetation. After topsoil has been replaced and the surface prepared
for planting, mulching will be done at the mte of 2000-3000 lbs./acre.
Planting of the permanent seed mixture will take place during the first
• appropriate period (May 1 -June IS or September I -November I). Seed
Mix No. 2 listed in Tab 13 of the Seneca II Mine Permit Application will be
the preferred seed mix for revegetation of the office/shop area and any
associated disturbances due to grading.
NOV 2 S 1981
