(CEC) has been approached by the U.S. Environmental Protection <br />Agency, ASARCO and the owner of the Chase Gulch property in Blackhawk with a <br />request to dispose of waste rock from Chase Gulch and Virginia Canyon at the CEC <br />Keenesburg Mine. Per the amendment to our permit from Weld County, we are <br />presenting you with the attached TCLP results and letters from the parties. Please <br />review these documents and inform us if either or both of these materials are <br />satisfactory to be disposed of at the Keenesburg Mine. We are also enclosing a letter <br />from Doty and Associates which addresses the ground water monitoring program <br />requirements. Our internal review indicates that all prerequisites of the Site Specific <br />Development Plan and Special Review Permit #1160 (Second Amended Special <br />Review Permit #386) have been fulfilled. The volume of the Chase Gulch waste rock <br />is estimated at less than 2,000 yd' and the volume of the Virginia Canyon waste rock <br />at less than 750 yd'. <br />Thank you in advance for your consideration, please cal( me at 303.277.2662 if you <br />have any questions.
