Since
I left the message for you I spoke with Mr. Phil George of Cross Mountain
Ranch. Since most of the work the Division will be conducting with occur in
the lower elevations (not up in the pit areas) he felt that it may not be a
problem for DMG to be in there after 10/1.
At this point in time he believes there will only be two hunters back in
there. Usually the hunters come in on Fridays, and are often out of the
area by the following Tuesday. He requested that the work be conducted
Wednesdays through Fridays, please avoid Mondays and specifically avoid the
weekends. He didn't think that putting the gravel on the entrance road
would interfere.
Should you get out there and the elk are down low, like near the roads,
please use your judgement. And wear Your Orange! He also said that after
10/29 they don't have any hunters scheduled in there (if it is even still
accessible). If you go out to conduct work and the gate is locked, his # is
(303) 824-2803. Better yet, you may want to call him the day prior to make
sure the gate will be unlocked when you arrive.
Call me if you need clarification. (303)866-4944
