Boa 667 Craig, CO 81625 Dear Mr. Cooper: As discussed with Marvin Moore, we have no objection to the Road Department trying to use a more standardized seed mixture in lieu of the meaq different mixtures required in your current permits. Since we have developed a reclamation performance standard. we no longer require or formally recommend specific seed mixtures. Therefore, we will waive use of the seed mi:turee required in all active permits ae long as revegetation meets the following performance standard. Revegetation Standard Reclamation will ensure growth of a diverse, self-regenerating, permanent vegetative cover of the same seasonal growth ae adjoining vegetation. Diversity will be accomplished if at least two (2) perennial genera and three (3) perennial species make up the basal cover of the reclaimed area in precipitation zones thirteen (13) inches or lees and three (3) perennial genera and four (4) perennial species in precipitation zones greater than thirteen (13) inches. One species will not make up more than fiftq (50) percent of the perennial vegetation bq basal cover. Salf-regenerating vegetation will be evident if the plant community is in good vigor and there is evidence of successful reproduction. Permanent vegetative cover will be accomplished if the basal cover of perennial species is at least ninety (90) percent of the basal cover of the undisturbed vegetation of adjoining land or the potential basal cover ae defined in the Soil Conservation Service Range Sites (s) for the area.
