This investigation
will attempt to determine any connection or communication between
the air shaft and the well. This will be done, in part, through
characterization of the geology of strata which were penetrated
during shaft construction, including the existence of any strata
which serve as an aquifer, the extent of any aquifers and
characteristics of same.
If we believe that communication or connection between the two
bores exists then we would continue our investigation and attempt
to determine if the air shaft has had an adverse impact to the
Tatum well.
With regard to the subsidence issue, we will continue our
investigation by conducting an on-site subsidence impact evaluation
of the Tatum residence with the consent and cooperation of the
Tatums. Our experts will attempt to determine if the adverse
impacts which the Tatums allege their residence is experiencing are
related to subsidence from the Golden Eagle 1st North Main
underground workings or not.
Our goal is to commence these investigation within the next few
weeks. These investigations may take several weeks to complete.
Some investigative work will need to be conducted in the field and
is therefore subject to weather. In addition, if representatives
from the Western Service Center would like to participate in our
investigation, we would welcome their participation.
