Signs of mass
and surrounding the slump
The size of the slumps on Area 1 will not inhibit the utilization of
that area by its approved poatmine land use. Regrading of the areas at
this point in time would cause unwarranted disturbance to the vegetation
on the site. Until it is determined whether the slumps are increasing in
size or are starting to heal themselves, we feel that no action is
necessary at this moment. CYCC will continue to monitor the areas and in
the event that the mass movement is increasing or the potential for mass
movement increased corrective measures would be instituted.
Corrective measures would include surveying of the slump area to
determine if there is any loading or unloading of the slip surface area,
regrading of the slope. If the slump area exhibited saturation on a
year-round basis, a rock drain would be installed to dived the water in
that area to a stable site.
CYCC plans to monitor the slump areas and i£ the site exhibits
potential for increased mass movement, corrective measures of regrading
and dewatering will be instituted.
If I can be of any further assistance, please call.
Sincerely,
David McMindes
DM/sk
j
' ..
cc: G.
