8/18/97 DMG approves PR 5 to include 2 proposed lease modifications of 100 and <br />160 acres in the permit area. <br />NOTE: The lease modifications were not issued by BLM at this time. <br />10/1/97 BLM modifies Federal Lease COC-29125 by 100 acres. <br />10/22/97 DOI aooroves Minino Plan Modification to add 100 and 160 acres <br />respectively. <br />Approved mining plan acreage = 863 acres. <br />[603 + 100 + 160 = 863] <br />NOTE: DOI Mining Plan says 862 acres. <br />5/1/98 BLM modifies Federal Lease COC-49465 by 160 acres. <br />Leased Federal coal acreage = 853 <br />[593 + 100 + 160 = 853] <br />7/15/98 DMG approves PR6 to add 195 acres for proposed Federal lease COC- <br />60941. <br />NOTE: King Coal does not have federal lease at this time. <br />• 8/25/98 DMG issues Stipulation 15 to prohibit entry into Federal lease COC-60941 <br />until right of entry is obtained. <br />10/1/1998 BLM issues new Federal Lease COC-60941 for 195 acres. <br />11/5/98 DMG issues revised approval of PR6. <br />12/28/98 DOI approves Mining Plan Modification to add 195 acres for Lease <br />COC-60941. <br />Approved mining plan acreage = 1048 <br />[863 + 195 - 10 = 1048] <br />NOTE: DOI Mining Plan area acreage adjusted to <br />1048 acres. [See Note below] <br />Leased Federal Acreage = 1048 <br />[853 + 195 = 1048] <br />NOTE: BLM's November 1997 EA for the leasing of COC-60941 <br />states that only 693 Federal acres were leased before COC-60941 <br />was issued. This compares to 863 acres in the DOI Mining Plan <br />area at that same time. The BLM acreage is 170 acres less than <br />DOI's Mining Plan area and is due to: 1) BLM not including the 160 <br />acres of Lease P-058300 in its EA Federal acreage estimate and 2) <br />• DOI including 10 more acres in its Mining Plan area in 1982 than was <br />actually leased. <br />
