'~ ~ ~~
Mr. Thomas S. Hendricks - 2 - Fet~ruary 28, 1994
It was also the understanding of the Division that the 3,000 tons of cre was only
for starters that there was going to be additional shipments of ore tc be milled
from the Cross Mine Ore at the Bald Eagle Mine.
After our telephone conversation on February 24th it was revealed that this
3,000 tons of ore was the maximum amount that will be shipped to the Bald Eagle Mine.
Mr. Kenneth Wiedhalm's letter did not explain this fact he was also of the
understanding that 600 tonstmonth was to be shipped until the ore supplied was
depleted. If you provide the Division documentation that shows the sample selected
was from a representative sample of the ore body and the results of the tailings
test that was provided reflects the same, the Division will consider allowing the
milling of the ore at the Bald Eagle Mine, permit no. M-79-O11 HR.
If you have additional questions or concerns please contact me.
Sincerely,
Berhan Keffelew
Environmental Protection Specialist
BK/ern
cc: Kenneth Wiedhalm, VCMC
Carl Mount, DMG
9966E
