-26-

All facilities proposed by the operator will be newly constructed. There
are no existing structures that will be used except for the entrance road
which will be upgraded and used by the operator.
The following is a list of buildings, yards and associated mine
facilities proposed for the project. These facilities were all found to
be in compliance with the Regulations.
1) Office building and scalehouse - 12' x 60' (mobile unit)
2) Scales
3) Change-room and showers (mobile unit) 20' x 40'
4) Wash/processing plant, stacker, coal storage area and reclaim
tunnel
5) Employee parking area - 140' x 295'
6) Equipment repair shop - 40' x 50'
7) Equipment storage yard -2 acres
8) Explosive storage van (grill) - 8' x 40'
9) Detonator magazine - 10' x 20'
10) Dynamite storage magazine - 10' x 20'
11) Slurry ponds for wash plant - 2
12> Storage pond (earth tank) for storage of wash plant water
13> Fresh water (industrial) well
14) Domestic water storage tank - 20' x 20'
15) Conveyors
16) Coal staging area
17> Truck loading area
C. Ponds, Impoundments, and Diversions
The operator has designed a drainage and sediment control system for the
mine. The purpose of this system is two-fold. The drainage system is
intended to control runoff from mine facilities such as roads and benches
so that operations are not hindered by wet or muddy conditions. The
sediment control system is designed, in part, to collect runoff from
disturbed areas and reduce the concentration of suspended solids to
levels established by the Environmental Protection Agency. A discussion
of the drainage and sediment control plan can be found in Volume 1 page
52-60, Maps 5-1 and 4-3, and in Volume II Appendix 5-2.
