One of the revised
Rules, 4.15.1(5) requires each operator to incorporate a weed management plan into their permit. Review
of the Eagle Mine Complex permit failed to locate an approved weed management plan.
Please submit a revision to update the weed management plan to comply with Rule 4.15.1(5).
Components of the plan include definition of noxious plant species that require weed management, and
provide detail of weed control methods to be utilized. The Division recognizes that BTU-Empire
conducts weed control operations as needed, however documentation of these operations is not described
in the permit text.
Please call me if you have questions.
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
