The Division has reviewed this request and has the
following comments.
The Division agrees that presenting the permit boundary on a single sheet does aid in seeing the
"big picture" of the site. The problem, however, is that Ruie 2.10.1(1) requires that ad "Maps of
the disturbed area shall be at a scale of 1:6,000 or larger..." This means that any map that shows
the disturbed aeeas (for example a mine plan map or a topsoil handling map) must be on a scale of
I":500' or larger.
Rule 2. ] 0.1(2), however, states that "Maps of the remainder of the area to be affected and the
adjacent areas... be at a scale of 1;24,000 or larger..." These maps would include regional
geology or hydrology maps or any others that are not specifically showing disturbed area
information.
Given a list of maps that CCC is proposing to update, the Division would be happy to determine
which maps could be printed on a I":1000' scale and which maps need to remain at a 1";500'
scale. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Sincerely,
~-
James R.
