The only way to
keep livestock off the permit area for reseeding purposes is to
completely fence the area and this would close landowners livestock
off to pasture East of the permitted area and said landowner will
not allow this.
The only solution that I can find which would be suitable to
the landowner and hopefully satisfy the DMG would be to seed the
area in the early fall of 1996 when reclamation is complete. The
cattle will be moved out in June of 1996 and will not be back in
until April of 1997. This should be sufficient time to establish
plant growth which would be as good if not better than what is
already on the surrounding area.
Thank You/
Tim Huskey, v
Road Supezvisor
