CWL Ir not demanding anticipated profus, just payment for the work <br />performed <br />Response: Substantial work was not completed under Bid Invitation Special Condition Task <br />12. The OWNER has never received any documentation of costs incurred by the contractor <br />for any deleted work. Work on Task 12 included the following items: <br />12a) Channel With Erosion Mat. 100 linear feet of this southern 350-foot <br />section will have erosion mat only installed per Drawing 4. The erosion mat <br />shall be Iandlok TRM 1060 or equivalent. <br />12b) Channel With Erosion Mat and Riprap. 250 feet of this southern 350- <br />foot section will receive erosion mat and angular riprap in accordance with <br />Drawing #4. The location of the riprapped section will be determined by the <br />PROJECT MANAGER on site after grading is rnmpete. <br />l2c) Channel Without Erosion Mat. The next portion of the Channel having <br />an approximate length of 2200 feet shall be constructed in accordance with <br />Drawing 2. The southern most 1800 feet of this section will have a maximum <br />slope of 20:1. The remaining northern most portion of the channel, <br />approximately 400 feet, shall have a maximum slope of 10:1. <br />ltd) Drop Structures. Drop structures shall be constructed per Drawing 3 <br />on 150 foot centers within the 2200 feet of channel constructed without <br />erosion mat. The exact location of the drop structures shall be determined <br />by the PROJECT' MANAGER after grading work is complete. <br />As specified in Task 12 and outlined on the Bid Schedule, the CONTRACTOR simply bid <br />on installation of erosion mat, erosion mat and riprap and concrete drop structures. A <br />review of the Bid Schedule shows that the CONTRACTOR bid as follows: <br />12a) WITH EROSION MAT-$15.00 per ln. h: $1500.00 Total <br />12b) WITH EROSION MAT & RIPRAP-$20.00 per ln. ft: $5,000.00 Total. <br />12c) WITHOUT EROSION MAT-$.30 per ln.ft: $660.00 Total. <br />12d) DROP STRUCTURES-$1600 per each-$24,000 Total. <br />Change order 2 dated May 26, 1994 deleted all of 12a, all of 12b and part of 12d (3 <br />structures at $4800.00). Change Order 4 dated July 11, 1994 deleted part of 12d (6 <br />structures at $9600). Item 12c and the remaining portion of 12d, six drop structures were <br />paid for in full. All of 12c was paid in full under invoice 6 and six drop structures were paid <br />in full under invoices 5 and 6. <br />14 <br />
