1988 to 1992 Permit Renewal
3.1.8 Surface Mining Near Underground Mining
During the time period 1988 to 1991, Trapper Mining Inc. will be conducting
mining activities within S00 horizontal feet of [he underground mine workings
of Eagle No. 5 Mine, controlled by Flnpire Energy Corporation. These under-
ground workings, shown on Map M-8, C Pit Blasting Plan, are mostly abandoned
room and pillar mining areas for which an estimated 85X extraction was accom-
plished, No currently-active headings fall within 500 feet of the planned
blasting area, although during the permit term the possibility exists.
Safety of underground workers will not be compromised as more than 800 verti-
cal feet separate the bottom of the lowest mineable seam of Colt Pit from [he
highest mineable seam of Empire's underground workings, To insure safety of
underground workers, blasting within 500 feet of the underground workings will
be done during Empire's shift changes when none of their workers are in the
area.
No other aspects of mining activities conducted by Trapper Mining Inc. will
effect the underground mining operations. No surface water should enter the
underground workings due [o the extensive vertical separation of the two
mining operations.
