I
agree with your need to increase surety for the additional acreage. Per
our phone conversation, I would feel comfortable with $1000/acre major
and $700/acre moderate disturbance (see rule 2.12(4)(d) for definitions
of these). Please submit an acreage of these workings and calculate surety
accordingly. I will then present this change to the Alined Land Reclamtion
Board for approval. As you are probably aware, concurrent reclamation
reduces bonding costs because the disturbance is reduced. I would
think that you cvould wish to disturb (X) acres max. in a phasing plan.
Also, please find enclosed two copies each of both the performance and
financial warranties which now accompany permits and bond changes. Please
complete one set each for the Midway Pit ($20,000), and the Vollmer Road
Pit and return to this office.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Mik~nton
Reclamation Specialist
MS/mob
Enclosure
