Lands south of the Purgatorce River, lands east of the South Fork of the Purgatoire River and Alamosa Canyon. lands north of Vermejo Park, and lands west of Widow Woman Canyon, containing approximately 17,862 acres. The mine +s located approximately 2 miles east of Segundo and approximately 17 miles west of Trinidad. Colorado, on State Highway 12 The mine site is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps titled "Tercio". "Weston", and "Little Pine Canyon." Mining operations commenced in September 2001 and continued until June 2002 when operations were ceased due to market conditions. Shortly after that time, the mine began reclamation operations. Currently the backfilling and grading of all pit areas has been completed. Presently, reclamation operations continue with topsoil replacement, seeding, and maintenance work as needed Section II -Revisions to the Permit Five technical revision applications, two minor revisions. and one bond release were reviewed since Permit Renewal No. 1 was approved in November 2002 Two of the technical revision applications were withdrawn by the applicant prior to the Division proposing a decision.
