I have highlighted the corners of each map in green for proper
orientation of the maps. The reclaimed area is highlighted in yellow. Similar features on each
map are highlighted in blue. The approximate area of the collapse is shown in green on the Final
Topography map. N•'hen compared to Map 2 depicting the workings, it is likely that an er•try .
into the underground mine, west of the surface pit, has collapsed. These types of features are riot
wtcommon in areas of concentrated underground miring and shallow overburden, as is the case
in this situation.
As I mentioned in our phone conversation, the lando•~vner should be contacted and made aware
of the hazard and given an indication of the mitigation reyuired by f andmark. A site visit to
mark and/or backfill the feature is also recommended as soon as practical. I will have
photographs in the near future if you would like to see the feature prior to your visit.
Please review and call me if you have any questions.
Sint ely„
~~~~~-
K t Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure (2)
