iiiiiioiiiiiiiiiiii
.~,~~::t r ..•
i~
THE ROCRCASTLE COMPANY
June 27, 1983
Mined Land Reclamation Board
ATTN: Dan Matthews
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Grassy Creek Coal Mine ¢1 haul road to Pit 1F4
Dear Dan:
~~~~~~
~u~~3 0 1983
.~i11NE9 LAND RECLAMATION
Co1o.'Pept. of Natural F1eso1'rce~
I have received your June 10, 1983 inspection report for the Grassy Creek
Coal Mine $1. In addressing your's and Jim Pendleton's concern about our
slides on the Pit A4 Haul Road, I am proposing the following:
1.) Restore the failing ground to as close to original contour as possible
and filling in all stress cracks.
2.) Walking in restabilized areas with a D-8 dozer.
3.) Establish a small bench approximately 4' above ditch Line to catch
any material that might slide in the future.
4.) Install a rock gutter to drain water that may flow through this area
in the future.
5.) Seed and mulch areas that were disturbed by failing ground,
6.) Stake and reference areas where slips had started and watch to see if
ground is holding or continueing to slide.
The above would be done as soon as the areas mentioned are dry enough to
support the equipment necessary for regrading .
Thank you foz your consideration of my proposal. I will be looking forward
to hearing Erom you.
Sincerely //~~~ /~
Robert H. Sherman
Mine Superintendent
RHS/hy
P. 0. 80Y AA 9AYD8N, C01r08AD0 81839
